Jim Whelan is President and Chief Executive Officer of the James R. Whelan Agency. It all started with a dream and an entrepreneurial spirit because when he worked for other sales agencies they would cut commission and other benefits and, thus, The James R. Whelan Agency was born out of his garage in 2004.
JRWA has become one of the leading advertising agencies in the country, specializing in digital advertising, opt-in email distribution, radio and TV media buying, planning and sales, as well as direct response campaigns.
While Jim Whelan is known as a business leader, there is another side that is not known… he’s an avid bicyclist and philanthropist. Jim has ridden his bicycle across the US and Canada – from northern Alaska to the southernmost point in the country, Key West, FL. He peddles 50 miles almost every day before he heads into the office. As a philanthropist, Jim is a strong believer in helping his fellow man; he gives generously to many charities. As he’ll tell you, he came from Canada with practically nothing on his back and started from the ground up. Jim is strongly connected to the Caring House Project in Delray Beach, a charity that builds villages for families in Haiti. In addition to spending time in Haiti assisting with the construction of these villages, he has biked over 200 miles around Lake Okeechobee twice in 24 hours to raise funds for the Caring House Project.
Jim’s vision is to continue to build JRWA to become one of the top full-service advertising agencies in the nation and expand the company’s capabilities and staff to better serve its clients.
